My life has and continues to be greatly influenced by the practice of yoga and all of its teachings. One of my teachers describes the physical component of yoga as meditation in movement. Moving my body with mindful awareness over the years has brought an unending stream of insights into how I interact with myself and the world at large-especially when I don't feel I'm at my best. Through practice, yoga has has helped me gain not only flexibility of body, but flexibility of mind. Where my tendency was to muscle my way into and through challenging poses (and life situations), I continue to be reminded how much more effective it is for me to soften and breathe into each moment of each experience, particularly when I feel challenged.
