If you're feeling overwhelmed by or hopeless over your current situation--or even if you're not--try a quick experiment with me:

  1. First, see if you can give words to what you're feeling or experiencing (out loud if you can)
  2. Now take three slow, deep breaths allowing your chest to expand fully then gently squeezing all the air out
  3. Finally, scan your body from head to toe and try to soften and relax any tension you find, especially in your neck and shoulders.

Observe how you feel now that you've taken this small step. You don't have to take the next one alone.
